No cookies
This site sets no cookies at all — which is why there is no cookie banner. Your browser's own storage holds a few technical settings, such as a cache of the contact details, so pages load faster. Those do not follow you anywhere and disappear when you clear your browser data.
What is collected
Booking data. Your name, phone number and email address, the tool, the dates, and an address only if you ask for home delivery. This is needed to make the rental happen: confirming, agreeing collection, and letting you see your own bookings. Email is required, because the whole booking process runs by email.
Visitor statistics. Simple Analytics, a cookieless service that does not track you across sites and collects nothing that identifies you. It respects your browser's Do Not Track setting. What is collected is statistical: which page was opened, from which country, on what kind of device, and which link you arrived from.
Tool suggestions. If you suggest a tool you wish I had, I store the name and your description. An email address is optional; without one the suggestion is stored anonymously.
Search statistics. When a search on the site finds nothing, the search term and the number of results are stored. That is a word and a number — no IP address, no session identifier, nothing that connects the search to you.
Share counter. If you share a tool's link, the tool and the time are recorded — nothing about you.
Spam filter. The forms have an automatic filter that rejects obvious bot submissions. A rejected submission is kept for 30 days so I can check that no real customer was caught by mistake. If your form was rejected in error, it contains what you entered — which is why those rows are deleted automatically.
Reviews. After a rental ends I email a one-time link for leaving a review. What is stored is the rating, any comment, the tool and the date — no name, no email, no reference to the booking. The link is single-use and is invalidated when submitted, so a stored review cannot afterwards be connected to you. On the page it appears as "Asiakas 10.9.2026". Because it cannot be connected to you, a review also cannot be retrieved, changed or deleted on request.
Server logs. Ordinary web server logs, kept for a few weeks.
Who processes the data
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure hosts the site and database. Resend sends the transactional emails. Simple Analytics provides the visitor statistics. WhatsApp is used only if you choose to contact me that way.
Resend operates in the United States, so your email address and the contents of the message are processed partly outside the EU and EEA, under the standard contractual clauses.
How long
Booking data is kept for as long as it is needed for the rental relationship and for any accounting obligation. Login codes expire in minutes. Rejected form submissions are deleted after 30 days. Statistics contain nothing personal and are kept indefinitely.
Automated decision-making
There is none. AI is used to help write tool descriptions and landing pages, and it never sees customer data.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Email me and I will handle it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuojavaltuutettu).
